This prestigious event, now in its 15th year, sees around 500 independent businesses battling it out across 22 categories to showcase the best of the UK’s kebab industry.
The semi-finalists have emerged from thousands of public nominations, highlighting the diverse and vibrant culinary scene in Essex. From Chelmsford to Colchester, and Leigh-on-Sea to Canvey Island, these local gems are making waves on the national stage. Categories range from Best Newcomer and Best Delivery to Best Vegan Kebab, with a celebration of cuisines including Turkish, Kurdish, Greek, Lebanese, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Kosher.
Among the proud semi-finalists are Efezade Mezze Grill in Loughton and Mangal Express in Canvey Island, both vying for the Best Delivery title. Meanwhile, Lara Grill in Dagenham and Mangal Meze Restaurant in Romford are competing for the Best Kebab Restaurant in South and East London. Buzz Kitchen in Basildon and Turquoise Kitchen in Chelmsford are in the running for Best Kebab Restaurant in the South of England, showcasing the region’s culinary prowess.
For those seeking value, Ela Ltd Southend Kebab in Leigh-on-Sea and Hasturk Bar Meze Grill in Braintree are contenders for Best Value Restaurant. Meanwhile, Yuce’s in Harlow is setting the standard for Fine Dining, and Ahmet Kabayel from Pircio in Bishop’s Stortford is in the race for Chef of the Year.
