Pupils at The Beaulieu Park School in Chelmsford have raised an impressive £11,568 for school improvements through the £20.26 challenge. This heartwarming initiative, organised by the Friends of Beaulieu Park School, saw students from Reception to Year 7 engaging in creative and inspiring sponsored activities over six weeks. Each child was tasked with raising £20.26, and the community spirit was truly palpable as family, friends, and local residents rallied together to support the young fundraisers.
The challenge encouraged pupils to think outside the box, with many opting for activities centred around the number 26. From learning to say hello in 26 languages to sampling 26 new foods, reading 26 books, and creating 26 stop motion animation videos, the creativity was boundless. Some even took on the physical feat of completing 2026 trampoline bounces! Beyond these numerical challenges, pupils also embraced acts of kindness, such as baking cupcakes for homeless people, litter picking, and playing a different piano piece each day.
The dedication and enthusiasm of the students were rewarded with medals, trophies, and money to spend at their discretion. Owl Class and Cinnamon Bear Class, the top fundraisers, decided to combine their winnings to purchase play equipment and board games for the entire school, showcasing their generosity and community spirit.
This successful fundraising effort not only highlights the creativity and determination of the pupils but also underscores the supportive nature of the Chelmsford community.
