Calling all budding young photographers! Essex Wildlife Trust is thrilled to invite you to its 10th anniversary photography competition. This is a fantastic opportunity for children aged 6-16 to explore the wonders of nature and showcase their creativity by capturing stunning wildlife images.
The competition is a highlight of the year, drawing in hundreds of entries from photographers of all ages and abilities. The special Young Blood category is exclusively for our young talents, offering them a chance to shine. Last year, the Young Blood winner mesmerised us with a captivating shot of a cormorant basking in golden light by the River Colne.
Entrants can submit up to three images in any of the six exciting categories: A Wildlife Motion Picture, Captivating Colours, Gardener’s World, Young Blood, Coastal Captures, and Places of Wonder. Remember, all photos must be taken within Essex during 2026.
The competition is not just about winning; it’s about celebrating the beauty of Essex’s wildlife. The public will have the chance to vote for the overall winner, who will be announced in January. Meanwhile, a panel of judges will select the category winners, whose works will be proudly displayed at High Chelmer Shopping Centre in Chelmsford, thanks to the support of the competition’s sponsor. This year, we’re also excited to welcome c2c as a new sponsor.
While the competition is exclusively for young photographers, it’s a wonderful reminder for all of us to appreciate the natural beauty around us. If you’re inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of Essex and dream of a home that brings you closer to nature, we at Bond Residential are here to help you find your perfect spot.
