Gold Geese Charity Expands Across Essex

Exciting news for families in mid Essex! Gold Geese, a remarkable cancer support charity originally based in Southend, has expanded its wings to reach Chelmsford, Maldon, and beyond. This expansion is part of their heartfelt mission to offer practical, emotional, and financial support to children and young people bravely battling cancer.

Founded by Katie Southgate in 2018, Gold Geese was born from personal experience. After her daughter’s cancer journey, Katie was inspired to ensure no family faces such challenges alone. Now, families across mid Essex can benefit from the charity’s extensive support, which includes everything from fun activities and financial aid to meal deliveries and emotional care.

Gold Geese’s offerings are as diverse as they are impactful. They provide toys, special experiences, and short breaks to bring joy to young lives. Additionally, they offer supermarket vouchers and travel cost assistance for medical appointments. The charity also places a strong emphasis on mental health, funding therapy, sibling support, and bereavement services. Their work raises awareness of the profound impact of childhood cancer, ensuring these young voices are heard.

This summer, children supported by Gold Geese showcased their creativity at Chelmsford’s Concrete Canvas street art festival, painting a vibrant mural at Chelmsford Market. Such activities not only uplift spirits but also foster a sense of community and belonging.

As we mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, Gold Geese’s expansion is a beacon of hope and support for many. For more information, to donate, or to access their services, visit www.goldgeese.org.

At Bond Residential, we’re proud to support our local community and encourage anyone in need to reach out to this incredible charity. Together, we can make a difference.
