A special service at Chelmsford Cathedral marked the 100th birthday of Mary Bradford, a cherished volunteer who dedicated 60 years to the cathedral. Mary, now a resident of Cherry Wood Grange Care Home in Chelmsford, enjoyed a continuation of festivities with a delightful party hosted by the care home team. Family and friends gathered to honour her centenary with decorations, a special cake, and bubbly to toast her remarkable life.
Before her retirement, Mary was a devoted teaching assistant at St Cedd’s School in Chelmsford. Her passion for education extended beyond her career, as she served as a school governor at Chelmsford County High School, her alma mater. Mary’s life has been a testament to her strong religious beliefs, having attended church every Sunday without fail.
