A heartwarming golf day in Maldon saw over 70 participants come together, raising a fantastic £12,062 for Broomfield Hospital’s Blossom Suite. This dedicated space supports parents through the unimaginable pain of baby loss. The event was organised by Amie and Aaron Stephens, who sadly had to use the suite after the loss of their daughter, Havana, in September 2023.
Amie and Aaron hosted this event in loving memory of Havana, aiming to give back to the suite that provided them with precious time and support. Amie shared, “Staying in the suite with Havana meant we could cherish the small amount of time we had with our daughter; we were able to introduce family to Havana and capture special memories of our time together.”
The Blossom Suite offers a sanctuary where families can spend time with their babies, supported by compassionate bereavement midwives. Amie expressed her gratitude, saying, “The bereavement suite team went above and beyond; I can’t imagine having been without them at such a time.”
The golf day was not only a tribute to Havana but also a community effort, with support from DSS, a security company based in Basildon. This collective effort highlights the importance of community support in times of need.
