Dust off your running shoes, get your knitting needles ready, or preheat your oven! Chelmsford locals are being urged to take part in the 120 Challenge, a unique fundraising initiative by the mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind. This call to action is not just about raising funds; it's about embracing enjoyable activities that boost mental wellbeing.
The 120 Challenge is a flexible fundraiser designed to suit anyone. As Ginny Idehen, CEO of Mid and North East Essex Mind, explains, "It’s based on moving more, using a skill or doing something you enjoy." The challenge could be as simple as an armchair workout for 120 seconds a day, running 120 miles in a month, or knitting for 120 minutes. The choice is yours.
The number 120 isn't just a random figure. Research shows that everyone needs a minimum of 120 minutes of exercise a week. Moreover, spending 120 minutes a week outside in nature is associated with good health and wellbeing. This challenge encourages participants to make the most of the great outdoors, although indoor activities like knitting, baking, or reading are also welcomed.
Mid and North East Essex Mind provides a wide range of mental health services within its 120-mile boundary from Braintree to Clacton and Maldon to Chelmsford. The funds raised from this challenge will support their vital work in the community.
Signing up for the challenge is free and participants will receive a complimentary Mid and North East Essex Mind t-shirt. Once £120 fundraising has been achieved, supporters will receive a branded charity item as a thank you.
So, Chelmsford locals, why not get involved? Not only will you be supporting a great cause, but you might also find a new hobby or fitness routine. And remember, if you're considering a move within the Chelmsford area, we at Bond Residential are always here to help you find your perfect home.
