Get ready for a twinkling treat as Essex’s beloved Illuminated Christmas Charity Tractor Run returns this December! A convoy of dazzling tractors, adorned with festive lights, will illuminate the roads on December 5th, starting from the Crawfords Group in Writtle. This event promises a magical evening for families and local communities, lighting up the Essex countryside with holiday cheer.
The tractors will embark on a scenic 21.8-mile journey, winding through the picturesque landscapes of Essex. The route includes the A414, Stondon Massey, and Blackmore, with a highlight being the procession through Writtle village green around 5.30pm. Spectators can enjoy the spectacle from safe viewing points along the route, or catch the tractors up close at the Crawfords depot before and after their journey.
This annual event isn’t just about festive fun; it’s a heartwarming charity initiative too. In 2024, it raised over £14,600 for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, with more than 110 tractors participating. Organised by the Lyon family and hosted by Crawfords Group, the tractor run unites the agricultural community and local residents, fostering a spirit of giving and togetherness.
Whether you’re a local or visiting from afar, this event is a must-see. It’s a perfect opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere, support a worthy cause, and perhaps even get inspired by the community spirit. And if you’re considering making Essex your home, why not explore the area further? At Bond Residential, we’re here to help you find your perfect spot in this vibrant community.
